NAAAP Kicks off 2017 Leadership Convention in Chicago this month!
Largest Annual Gathering of Asian American Professionals
Chicago (August 2017) – From August 17-19, several hundred Asian American professionals from across the country will gather together for the 2017 Leadership Convention, ERG Summit and Recruitment Expo at the Swissotel in Chicago.
This conference is the largest annual gathering for the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) and boasts several dozen breakout sessions, four all-star keynote speakers, a Saturday night awards gala honoring influential leaders in the Asian American and Pacific Islanders community, and a recruitment expo offering job opportunities for the local Chicago professional community. Attendees will learn about the latest diversity and inclusion trends, advice from women in leadership, and opportunities for mentorship and growth from more than 25 educational workshops.
On Thursday, August 17, NAAAP will host its annual ERG Summit during a one-day conference that catalyzes the formation and performance of Asian Employee Resource Groups and Business Resource Groups (collectively referred to as ERGs). The summit will feature relevant topics for those involved in ERGs including increasing engagement, collaboration of internal partners, and talent development. On Friday from noon to 6:00 p.m., the Recruitment Expo will feature more than 12 companies actively recruiting candidates and complimentary professional headshots. This year’s event will also feature NAAAP Chicago’s 30th anniversary with a “Taste of Chicago” social event at the Chicago Cultural Center on Friday evening. Signature tastes of the Windy City will include Chicago hot dogs, deep-dish pizza and popcorn with entertainment by Northwestern Bangra dance. On Saturday night, NAAAP’s highest award, the NAAAP 100, will be presented to the most influential leaders who have made significant contributions to their profession and to the Asian community.
