Hear how their perseverance and attitude embolden them to be an inspiration to their respective Vietnamese, Thai, and Pacific Islander communities.

Learn how they surpassed the challenges they’ve faced along the way, how they were able to achieve their success, and how they’re continuing to lead their service and communities. And…it is an opportunity to acquire a mentor while you’re at it.

Echo Chambers in API Culture

with Naimah Bhuruku, James Cheng, Nakeia Drummond, Hanh Le, Sonia Aranza, Ihita Kabir, Angela Wu, & Navdeep Singh

One of the defining paradoxes of the modern age is that the internet has created chambers of like-minded users who see only what they want to see. These “echo chambers” can blind us to different perspectives and stifle growth in the workplace.

In this session, attendees will discuss the pros and cons of surrounding yourself with like-minded people and how to move beyond the echo chamber to engage others through the diversity of thought.

Track 2

Making the Future of Work More Inclusive and Equitable

with Susan Borke

As we emerge from a global pandemic and rejuvenated social justice movements, we realize that how we interact in the workplace has changed forever. We love the promise of a hybrid team being able to thrive from the capabilities for balance and choice that come with the innovations in technology and management theory that fuel hybrid work.

But what are we missing? How can we take advantage of this (r)evolution to address some long-standing inequities and unconscious biases that keep APIs from advancing and bringing their full selves to the workplace? Come explore this sticky question with those at the forefront of this opportunity to change the world.
