Entrepreneur, Author, Philanthropist, Non-profit leader at Humanity Forward

Yang was a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate and a 2021 candidate for mayor of New York City. Named by President Obama as a Presidential Ambassador of Global Entrepreneurship, he is the founder of Humanity Forward and Venture for America. Yang’s New York Times bestselling book The War on Normal People helped introduce the idea of universal basic income into the political mainstream. Yang is a graduate of Brown University, where he graduated with degrees in economics and political science, and Columbia Law School.

James Rhee

Rhee is an acclaimed impact investor, CEO, and educator. He transforms people, brands, and organizations by identifying and unleashing purpose through the union of mathematical and creative systems. He is the Executive in Residence and Strategic Advisor at the MIT Leadership Center, and holds an appointment as Senior Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Bhuruku is a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practitioner, who champions young and developing professionals. As a Haitian American Muslim woman, and a child of immigrant parents she’s experienced what it means to feel excluded. She has 17 years of progressive experience building organizational relationships and partnerships.

Chand is a Group Product Manager at Capital One. Originally from Canada, where she obtained her Bachelors in Statistics and a Master of Business Administration. Deepa has over 20 years of experience in financial services, focused on innovation and disruptive technologies.

SgtMaj Lanpolsaen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in General Studies (Summa Cum Laide) from American Military University and now finds himself continuing his service to his troops through a national non-profit organization called the Warrior Scholar Project, based out of Washington D.C. that strives to support and skill-bridge programming to ensure the success of veterans in higher education.

MajGen Seely graduated from American University and was commissioned through the NROTC George Washington University in 1989. He also holds a Master’s Degree from Oklahoma State University, National Intelligence University, and the Naval War College. He is an inspiration for many of us in the Vietnamese community, mostly from the Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association.

Colonel Danielle Ngo

US Army

Colonel Ngo is an active-duty Army officer with over 30 years of service. She holds a distinguished graduate master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College (USAWC), a master’s in theater studies from the Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC), and a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University. She is also certified as a project management professional (PMP).

Captain Mi Phan

U.S. Public Health Service

Captain Phan, PharmD transitioned to DHA in October 2020 where she serves as one of COL Weina’s deputies in ORP. CAPT Phan is also staffing at the Quantico Naval Health Clinic Pharmacy. Previously, she was with the Food and Drug Administration where she oversaw a number of drug development for several therapeutic areas. 

Lieutenant Colonel Barnhart Jr.

US Marine Corps

Lt. Col. Barnhart spent two years at the University of Guam before transferring to the University of Idaho, graduating in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. Barnhart holds a master’s in operational studies from Marine Corps University in Quantico, Virginia. He served in Okinawa, Japan, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; and served as a weapons company executive officer during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.

Xiao is an Asian American entrepreneur, tennis player, and cook. His life mission is to make career discovery simpler, a problem that he is tackling as the co-founder and CEO of Homi, which helps companies connect with candidates through short videos.

Denis Sgourus

President, Baltimore Oliver Community

Sgourus is a Greek and Chinese community activist serving as President for the Baltimore Oliver Community, an historically underserved minority neighborhood. Denis also serves as the social chair for NAAAP Baltimore and a THREAD mentor. He has an MS in Marketing from the Kogod School of Business at The American University earned in 2017.

Michelle Mancari Rosenberg

Financial Advisor, Ameriprise Financial Services

Rosenberg is a Financial Advisor in Washington, D.C. who grew up in a military family primarily residing in Okinawa, Japan and Fredericksburg, Virginia. Her certifications include, Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), an Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor (APMA®), and Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA®).

Navdeep Singh

JD, Principal, Novalux Solutions

Singh previously served as the Policy Director of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) and as the Policy Director of the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund (SALDEF). He holds a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School and is a graduate of the University of Virginia. He serves on the boards of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania and the Sikh American History Project.

Jae Jin

Jin is an independent global recording artist, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor (SAG-AFTRA), & storyteller from Baltimore, MD. He has self-released 3 full-length albums of original music for which he has received GRAMMY consideration. Carlin not only has over 20 years of experience in higher education administration, but also has mentored students in international settings. Besides his expertise in higher education, Carlin is an experienced public speaker. He has been invited to speak at universities from coast to coast.

Carlo is a Sr. Manager for Cisco’s multi-billion dollar Collaboration business unit. He is an experienced business and channel operations leader with a track record of implementing and driving strategy, delivering business results and operational excellence. He is a founding member of Cisco’s Connected Asian Affinity Network (CAAN) dedicated to making Cisco a place where Asians are at their best for Cisco and the world. Carlo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a minor in Asian American Studies.

Brenna McKeown

Brenna McKeown is a transracial Chinese adoptee who currently resides in DC. She was adopted from Jiangsu Province and grew up in the suburbs of Tampa, Florida. After graduating from the University of Florida, Brenna has spent her time working for various Fortune 500 retailers in Seattle and Minneapolis. Currently, she works for Target within marketing and is an active member of Target’s Asian ERG.

HanhLinh Ho

Co-Founder, RevoGens

HanhLinh HoTran is an entrepreneur who co-founded RevoGens, a mental fitness coaching platform that wholistically transforms people’s well-being at work and at home. Previously, she has worked in different countries, including Japan and Vietnam, and held leadership positions in various industries, including healthcare and transportation. Her global background and diverse experience shape her belief that diversity, equity, and inclusion is as much about race, gender, as it is about every layer of a person’s identity, whether that’s parenthood, health, or culture. She is a strong advocate for mental health, healthy childhood development, and DEI.

Liz Kleinrock


Liz (she/her) is a Korean-American, queer, Jewish, antibias and antiracist educator of both children and adults, and creates curriculum for K-12 students, specializing in designing inquiry based units of study. In addition to her work as a classroom teacher, Liz also facilitates learning for adults that supports antibias and antiracist practices. In 2018, Liz received the Teaching Tolerance Award for Excellence in Teaching, and in 2019 delivered her TED Talk, “How to teach kids to talk about taboo topics.” In 2021, Liz released her first book, Start Here, Start Now: A Guide to Antibias and Antiracist Work in Your School Community with Heinemann Publishing, and is excited to publish four upcoming children’s books with HarperCollins.

Jean Kanokogi

Senior Special Agent, US Government & Director of Mental Health and Peer Support Services at the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association

Jean Kanokogi, Ph.D. is a Senior Special Agent for the US Government with extensive experience in conducting criminal and administrative investigations. With a career spanning for over 25 years in law enforcement, Jean has been the lead investigator on several high-profile cases, some including the attacks on 9/11 and many that focus on protecting public health. She dedicates her off-duty time as a volunteer for the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association where she is the Director of Mental Health and Peer Support Services. She also mentors high-risk youths, provide motivational speeches, and serves on the evaluation committee for the Rusty Kanokogi Scholarship fund managed by the Women’s Sports Foundation.

VP/GM of Digital, SMB and Strategic Partners, Cisco

As the VP/GM of Digital, SMB, and Strategic Partners in Cisco’s multi-billion dollar Collaboration, DP focuses on designing and delivering the end to end experience that enables Cisco and its partners to win in the small segment. DP is the Founder and was CEO of mPortal, which developed cloud-based mobile software solutions for companies such as AT&T, Comcast, Cox, Disney, ESPN, Time Warner Cable, Verizon, Virgin Group, Xerox and more. DP was selected by the State of Virginia’s Center for Innovative Technology as one of the Top 50 CIT GAP Entrepreneurs creating the next generation of innovative high-growth companies.

Dorris Lin

DEIA Officer in the Bureau of IRM, U.S. Department of State

Dorris Lin was recently named Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Accessibility Officer in the Bureau of Information Resource Management (IRM) for the U.S. Department of State, where she has established a new unit of cross-disciplinary professionals dedicated to optimizing organizational health. Drawing on 14 years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, outreach, and stakeholder engagement, Dorris relies on storytelling and trust-based relationships to advocate and mobilize organizations. As a certified Diversity Coach, certified culture facilitator, trained cultural assessor, content creator, and designer of D&I learning content, she is positioned to make inclusion tangible in application.

Piyachat Terrell

Acting Deputy Director, Office of Environmental Justice at EPA

Piyachat is currently leading the Community Support and Engagement Team in OEJ. Piyachat also serves as the Program Manager for the EPA’s White House Initiative for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. In this capacity, she works with nail salons on how to protect technicians from toxic chemicals. During the Katrina aftermath, Piyachat was instrumental in mediating meetings between the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and the Vietnamese community in New Orleans East resulting in the closing of the controversial Chef Menteur Landfill.

Jenny Liu

Senior Global Portfolio Strategy Manager, Ubisoft

Jenny Liu is a creatively and innovatively driven bilingual leader with experience in 360° global multimedia campaigns across the media and entertainment industry. Some high-profile campaigns include the Super Bowl, NBA Playoffs, San Diego Comic-Con, and The Emmy Awards. She enjoys ideating multicultural strategies and ways to uplift an organization’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion endeavors that support underrepresented groups. This passion led her to co-lead Ubisoft’s Asian & Pacific Islander Employee Resource Group to empower our API members, as well as co-lead our Marketing Campaign group within Antiracism Marketing Committee at Ubisoft to identify and dive deeper into how we approach inclusive campaigns.

Gene Lee

SVP Data Analytics, Caesars Entertainment

Gene Lee, SVP Data Analytics, oversees the Caesars Entertainment Analytics department, which supports Caesars Digital and 50+ properties across the US. Functional support areas include Digital Sportsbook and iGaming, Property Finance, Marketing, Gaming, VIP, Hospitality, Labor Analytics, Data Logistics and Data Science. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelors in Applied Math and received his MBA from Yale School of Management.

Lord Edwin “Eddie” de Jesus Carreon

Social justice educator

Eddie is a Filipinx-American who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area, but as a U.S. Army Brat, grew up moving and traveling all over the world. He is a social justice educator, trained InterGroup Dialogue facilitator, and DEI consultant. Eddie’s passions include creating safe and brave spaces for people to flourish, centering the voices and experiences of those marginalized and minoritized in society, educating and empowering individuals and communities to work for justice, and actively dismantling oppressive systems. Eddie is on the Board of Asian and Pacific Islander Queers United for Action (AQUA DC), a volunteer-based social and advocacy organization for the queer and transgender members of Asian and Pacific Islander communities.

Dorothy Chang

DEI Design Strategist

Dorothy Chang is an equity designer, facilitator, and coach who supports teams in applying a social justice lens to the norms, mindsets, systems, and structures that shape their everyday decision-making. She currently leads the employee experience function at Amazon eero, and has spent over a decade working in community organizing and operations design across the nonprofit, philanthropic/impact investing, and tech sectors.

Renita Jefferson

Renita is a sought-after international keynote speaker, executive coach, panelist and expert practioner in the areas of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging, Employee Engagement, Culture and Organizational Development. Renita currently leads DEIB strategic initiatives for Avient Corporation focused on attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent. In her role as Global DEIB Advancement Director, she partners with the senior leadership team and internal DEIB resources to enable a thriving culture built on a foundation of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

Phan is an actor and model with over 7 IMDB awards. As a speaker on TEDx TALKS, she spoke on the subject of Asian actors having to deal with Hollywood Obstacles & Barriers. An is currently pursuing her Ph.D. and her Harvard extended study to further her career in Acting and Producing, focusing on films that better represent the Pan-Asian American community. After graduating with honors with a BA in the Arts from Oklahoma, she immediately moved to Los Angeles where she obtained her Honors Degree in Masters in Acting for Film.

Annie Tan

Cousin to Vincent Chin

Annie Tan is a writer, special education teacher, activist, storyteller, and cousin of Vincent Chin. Annie’s work has been featured in Huffington Post, New Republic, and twice on NPR’s The Moth Radio Hour. Annie is currently working on her first book, a memoir about her family and Asian American legacy.

Stephanie Beck

Senior HR Specialist, Dominion Energy

Stephanie Beck is a Senior HR Specialist specializing in DEI for Dominion Energy. Prior to Dominion Energy, she was a DEI Specialist for Genworth Financial where she established Genworth’s first Diversity and Inclusion department and revamped their Employee Resource Groups. She is a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), and is certified in Diversity and Inclusion for HR by Cornell University, she also has an Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential from the SHRM. She is currently serving on the Associate Board for Sportable, a nonprofit organization that provides adaptive, competitive sports for people with disabilities. She is a mother, a veteran, a proud Latina and first generation American.

Amy Keller

Amy Keller is a Sr. Partner of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at PPG and a first generation Vietnamese American. She is part of PPG’s first DEI team as well as the lead for their eight global employee resource networks who are dedicated to showcasing how diverse teams perform better across PPG. She is an experienced transformational leader who helps organizations drive cultural and behavioral changes to help bring the best out of their employees. Based in the Pittsburgh area with her husband and family, she is a mom of two talented daughters as well as a member of the United Way Women’s Leadership Council.

Prior to joining Caesars Entertainment, Adam served in a variety of roles at MGM Resorts International, Marriott International, Intercontinental Hotel Group, and Walt Disney World. He received University of Nevada Las Vegas Hospitality School’s Mentor of the Year twice and serves as an advisor to the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality and as a Board Member to the Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association.

Rajeev Kumar

She has 20 years of Marketing and leadership experience, having worked with companies like Barnesandnoble.com, Zappos.com, IBM, Deloitte, and Oracle. Having a passion for mentoring and building leaders, she is on a mission to support Asian professionals in their career advancement goals in the workplace and community. She is the Co-Founder of the Genesys Asian Employee Resource Group and the Founder and President of NAAAP Las Vegas.

Michael Gonzalez

DE&I Consultant, Co-Founder, Diversity Equity & Inclusion Consortium, Professor of DE&I and former Leader of Hallmark’s Corporate DE&I Strategy

Michael is the principal and owner of NE&E consulting and travels the country as a consultant to corporations and non-profits, he is a coach for executives and DE&I professionals, speaker, panelist, and advisor on DE&I topics impacting business and workforce imperatives.He is also the co-founder of the Diversity & Inclusion Consortium, a national organization of over 465 DE&I practitioners and advocates hailing from 34 states 49 cities including four international cities.

Robbin Lee

Event Director

Prior to joining Baltimore Homecoming, Robbin has produced hundreds of events for nonprofit groups in Baltimore and DC such as Maryland Art Place, The Phillips Collection, and Capitol Riverfront BID, and directed Emporiyum – voted DC and Baltimore’s best food event in 2014 and 2015. Robbin joined the founding Baltimore Homecoming team in 2017 and was appointed executive director in 2020. Robbin currently serves on the UMBC Alumni Association Board of Directors and the advisory board for Business Volunteers of Maryland. She is a founder of the Baltimore Chapter of NAAAP.

Iyleen Summer

Chief Programs Officer of the National Association of Asian American Professionals

Iyleen Summer is a Malaysian Chinese American, currently the Chief Programs Officer of the NAAAP and a member of the NAAAP National’s Employee Resources Group Team. Outside of NAAAP, she is an admissions counselor at Cambridge College in Boston. Iyleen is also part of the Diversity Board of Big Sister of Greater Boston. Iyleen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Asian Studies from the University of Redlands. She also earned her Masters in Public Policy from Brandeis University.

Nikita Trivedi

Director of Corporate Philanthropy, Georgia Power Company

Nikita serves as Director of Corporate Philanthropy for Georgia Power Company. She also leads the system Foundations coordination effort and serves on the Moving to Equity coordination committee. In the community, Nikita serves on board of NAAAP and Georgia State Alumni Association. Trivedi’s recognitions include Georgia State University’s 40 under 40 award and the Georgia Asian Times Top 25 Influential Asian Americans in Georgia for 2022.

Jeleen Sindall, VMD

Customer Success Executive, Cisco

Jeleen is a Veterinarian, educator, connector, and cheerleader for the greater good. She is currently the Customer Success Executive at Cisco, where she supports public sector customers by helping them realize tangible business outcomes. Prior to joining Cisco, Jeleen served as a federal veterinarian for a decade, working across industry, state and federal entities to improve government partnerships and services. A strong advocate for building diverse ecosystems of leaders, Jeleen sits on the Board of Advisors for NAAAP-DC.

Stan Fujii

President, Fujii-Goup, LLC

The Fujii-Group is an upper management consulting firm specializing in small business regulations and policy. Stan retired from the U.S. Small Business Administration. He is an active leader in the Asian and Pacific Islander community. Jenny Nguyen

Jenny is the current President of the NAAAP, Washington, D.C. chapter. She is also the Vice President of the National Organization for Vietnamese American Leadership where she has founded and oversees a mentorship program for Vietnamese college students in the D.C. metro area. Jenny received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Wichita State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in International Development Studies with a concentration in Education in Impoverished Areas in Southeast Asia at George Washington University.

Chareeda is a startup enthusiast, community builder, DEI advocate, entrepreneur and a non-profit director with a focus on fostering a community of AAPI leaders. Chareeda works at Silicon Valley Bank supporting 800+ early stage founders and startups in the Boston/Greater New England area serving as a startup concierge – building founder communities and connecting startups to VCs. Chareeda is extremely passionate about empowering the voices of AAPI women in the professional space, she recently spearheaded the relaunching of the Boston Women in NAAAP committee and serves as Director.
