The Washington D.C. Experience

Our nation’s capital is well-known for the numerous free-admission-museums and awe-inspiring monuments. Our D.C. Chapter urges you and your family to explore the city, and beyond the typical tourist attractions. Our local community of restaurants and businesses welcome visitors to enjoy the many facets of the city. So, don’t limit yourself!

Visiting Washington D.C.

Is this your first time coming to Washington, D.C.? Or have you always wondered what more there is that the nation’s capital offers? We are excited to present you the D.C. Experience as an opportunity for you to connect to D.C. and explore the hidden gems along with the new connections you make at the Convention.

On August 11th, meet local AAPI leaders who are making a difference in the D.C. community during the opening reception. Then join us at keynote’s Patrice Cleary’s Purple Patch for camaraderie and delicious Filipino food, and sing your hearts out with karaoke to end the night.

Start your Friday morning with a leisurely run around the National Mall or a stroll around the neighborhood. In the evening, meet fellow Convention participants in themed networking dinners around D.C. End the night with music from Jae Jin, an independent global recording artist, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor (SAG-AFTRA), & storyteller from Baltimore, MD while enjoying drinks and dancing!

Wake up Saturday morning with a refreshing Intensati Workshop. Have some time to spare before the gala? Join us as we explore Planet Word, an immersive language experience.

Planet Word is a voice-activated museum (the world’s first!), and their interactive galleries and exhibits bring words and language to life in all sorts of fun ways.

Have an extra day in D.C.? Join us on Sunday for a morning and afternoon full of activities – from an interactive volunteering activity, to visiting Smithsonian museums, brunch at one of the best brunch spots in D.C., hanging out with D.C. Park Rangers, and much more!
