Charlie Newberger, McDonald’s Operations Officer in the Southeast Field Office (1600 restaurants and 225 franchisee organizations), is an innovative, solutions-oriented and sales-building marketer now turned General Business Leader with a proven track record of turning around inherited areas of opportunity. Most recently, he was responsible for standing up a newly created National Field Marketing Team in support of the Local Co-ops optimizing their local plans to achieve their business unit Sales, traffic and profitability targets.
In this role, Charlie leverages his nearly 10 years of diverse, critical McDonald’s experiences within Global Marketing, Value Lead, U.S. Marketing Category Management, the “Field” – Central Division and Chicago/Indy Regions. He has been recognized for variety of contributions to the business and brand throughout these various roles.
Charlie earned his MBA graduating with distinction from DePaul’s Kellstadt School of Business with a concentration in Strategy & Valuation. He completed his BA at University of Southern California, Phi Beta Kappa and Magna cum Laude, where he was also a walk-on catcher in his freshman year.
Charlie and his wife Katie have two children, Evan (8) and Mia (6). He loves to golf but rarely does as he deeply devoted to being engaged with his children’s activities including being Evan’s baseball, basketball and football coach and golfing buddy. He is an early riser in order to find the time to get to the gym, and passionately follows Chicago sports especially the World Champion Cubs. Lastly, don’t mind the “squinty” face – it’s the thinking face.
