This track is geared towards Employee Resource Group (ERG) and Business Resource Group (BRG) leaders and executive sponsors. It will be held simultaneously with the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Community Summit. Feel free to attend a single track or mix and match!

12:15pm – 1:00pm ET Inclusive Leadership: A View From the Top

In this panel, we will define what it means to be an inclusive leader, discuss examples of inclusive leadership, and learn how to move forward together.

1:15pm – 2:00pm ET Supporting Your Employees in Troubling Times Since the start of the pandemic, xenophobia and racial violence has risen exponentially. Join us as we discuss how ERGs and leaders can support their employees and create safe spaces to work.
2:15pm – 3:00pm ET Measuring ERG Success

We have an ERG. What next? In this workshop we will define ERG success, identify key performance indicators (KPIs), and discuss tools to measure progress and growth. 

3:15pm – 4:00pm ET Action Planning: Creating a Company of Belonging

Let’s make a plan! In this workshop we will break into small groups to develop 2 to 3 action items that can be implemented in our ERG/BRGs to create a culture of belonging.

12:15pm – 1:00pm ET Asian Allyship & Community Response

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Anti-Asian hate and violence has risen exponentially in the midst of growing xenophobia. In this panel, we will discuss how community organizations and leaders can join together to combat hate, share resources, and support each other.

1:15pm – 2:00pm ET API Women in Leadership & the Community

Organizational leadership positions are held predominantly by white males. Meet our panel of API community leaders who are breaking down those ceilings, both glass and bamboo. Learn about their journey and how they overcame obstacles and stereotypes along the way.

2:15pm – 3:00pm ET “Breaking Down” Mental Health

The stigma around mental health is a critical barrier to seeking help and building inclusive communities. In this workshop, learn from wellness experts on how to destigmatize mental health within the API community and across generations. 

3:15pm – 4:00pm ET Lack of API Education & Model Minority Myth The Model Minority Myth perpetuates the illusion that API students are monolithically exceptional, pits students of color against one another, and distracts from the achievement gap, especially amongst southeast and pacific islander students. In this workshop, we will discuss how we can work together to dispel the Model Minority Myth, push for more API educators, and advocate for academic support.
August 20, 2021 Fed Summit

12:15pm – 1:00pm ET Federal Resources for APIs Federal, state and local government employees are not alone in developing their careers, guidance and leadership skills. These organizations can provide you a sense of re-evaluating your career path and increase the power of your network.
1:15pm – 2:00pm ET Smart Path for a Federal career This session will attempt to determine if your career path is right for you. There are many folks that are in the j.o.b., because it was the path that other took before them, or it was available for the next promotion. But have your really designed the path that has the best potential for you.
2:15pm – 3:00pm ET Political or Political Appointee Reality Check Many have through it would be great to seek out a political career or to be a political appointee, but have they really considered what it take. This session will offer insight into the process.
3:15pm – 4:00pm ET Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI): What It Means to Your Future

Pitch are all things needed in our lvies and women of minority and color. This session will touch upon all these subjects and more through the experience speakers you will learn how to take these skillls an intergreate them within your daily life
1:15pm – 2:00pm ET How to Have Physical and Emotional Security for Women in the Workforce From the Food Industry to Finance sharing stories and tips on how to overcome bullying and Harassment in the workplace is crucial to having a successful career. Through this session we will feature a panel discussion to talk about personal stories from each of the panelists as well as take away skills on how to identify, act upon, and resources on how to aid Harassment and Bullying.
2:15pm – 3:00pm ET Gender, Financial, Social Inequality For Women Through data this session will provide how to highlight yourself as a financial leader. Discuss core challenges women of minority face with climbing the corporate ladder. And discuss salary negoation techniques
3:15pm – 4:00pm ET Rich Mom, Poor Mom: Financial Literacy for Women At this panel it will touch upon issues currently affecting women such as uncertain times for investments, how to buy a home, and even talk about how your industry is helping women investors. 1:30pm – 2:45pm ET Play Your Way to Ikigai Amongst all the chaos and uncertainty of this past year, we have had little time to slow down and reflect on whether we are truly tapping into our Ikigai. In Japanese, Ikigai means “reason for being.” We sometimes forget why we do what we do. In this play-oriented workshop, we are going to play our way to rediscovering our Ikigai. We will explore what drives us, what we love, what we get paid for, what the world needs, and how it gives us our sense of purpose when combined. As we enter this new normal, understanding our Ikigai will be vital to our success and overall fulfillment, so why not start that exploration today?
