Exclusive Private Screening of The Farewell with Special Guest, Actor Tzi Ma
A Leadership Convention add-on event
We are thrilled to invite Leadership Convention attendees to a private screening of the critically acclaimed film, The Farewell starring Awkwafina as Billi. A hit at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, The Farewell is a gently humorous and achingly tender reflection on home, heritage, and the ways in which family bonds can stretch across cultures, miles, and generations.
Please join us for an exclusive post-screening fireside chat with Ken Fong, host of Asian America: The Ken Fong Podcast and Hong Kong born actor Tzi Ma, who plays Billi’s father, Haiyan in the film. One of the most prolific and versatile actors working today, Ma has worked alongside many of the biggest names in Hollywood while starring in blockbuster movies including Rush Hour and Rush Hour III. Audiences may also recognize him from the films Arrival, Meditation Park, The Quiet American, Million Dollar Arm, Dante’s Peak and Rapid Fire.
His upcoming projects include playing Mulan’s Father in Disney’s mega-budget live-action version of Mulan; the protagonist in Alan Yang’s Netflix feature Tigertail, and he’s also in Netflix’s just released series Wu Assassins.
Limited seating is available for this private screening at AMC Prairiefire. The intimate theatre has a maximum capacity of 80 people. We are offering tickets exclusively to our convention attendees for a limited time on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket price includes private bus transportation to and from the theatre, entry into the screening, and the post-screening talkback with Tzi Ma. AMC Prairiefire is a “deliver-to-seat” dine-in theater. (Meals are not included in the ticket price.)
